Plant Power for Planet Earth

Plant Power for Planet Earth

Over the last few years I have managed to survive on a diet of mostly plant-based foods. Sure - I might still eat a small portion of fish every now and then, fry a few organic free range eggs here and there, and when Mum serves a home-made chocolate cake, I'm definitely not going to hold back; But my point is that I have managed to not only survive, but thrive, by significantly minimizing the amount of meat and dairy in my diet, keeping an open mind, and maximizing the amount of PLANTS.

Shifting to a plant-based protein powder was one of the first things I changed, which gave me cleaner burning and better quality fuel - Prana ON being one. This concoction is a sprouted brown rice and golden pea blend, inclusive of important gut repairing supplements like L-Glutamine, and even a healthy dose of powerful prebiotics and probiotics - something that animal based whey protein powders only dream of.

Why have I cut down on meat & dairy? Because I care about the environment, and all things in it. Animal agriculture has the second biggest contribution of C02 to the atmosphere per year, and not only that, in many parts of the world, animal agriculture includes the crude exploitation and unfair treatment of animals. How can I call myself an environmentalist if my diet is directly contributing to the perpetuation of climate change and supporting the exploitation of other living beings?

I'm not perfect, but changing the world starts with changing ourselves, and the shift towards eating less meat and adopting a more plant based diet is one of the simplest, most powerful choices you can make for the health of ourselves and that of our planet right now.
